Robert makes his home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with his wife Rhonda. His beginnings were in the extreme rural farm area known as Yellow Creek. In this very humble environment, living in a small three room house on his grandfather’s farm, he first began his search for fulfilling a dream. This dream required his leaving the farm to pursue other areas of interest, overcoming challenging circumstances.

Throughout life, he has experienced contact with consumers of products, beginning with selling corn and watermelons from the farm and helping his uncle at a community grocery. This sense of service gave him something the farm did not. He pursued this interest and began his retail experience at the lowest level (sweeping the floor) leading to a ten year management career with a regional retailer, leaving only to establish his own business.

In 1981, Robert and Rhonda, opened a retail jewelry operation and within four years had developed the business into a total of seven individual stores. He remained in the jewelry business for twenty-three years and retired in 2004 after selling the business. Robert discovered his writing career after deciding to interpret the sayings on church marquees, which resulted in this book. He intends to continue writing: his new passion and something that only words can express.
